	PAINTING BACKGROUNDS This will be all about how to finish your paintings with appropriate backgrounds from simple to complex.  Bring in an unfinished painting for suggestions and completion. 	LIGHTHOUSES This little lighthouse at Pt. Robinson on Maury Island is best seen on a sunny day with Mt. Rainier in the background.  What a perfect scene! 	SHIP DETAIL Everywhere you look at the marina there are little studies:  coiled ropes, rusty sides of boats, bumpers, reflections and sails.  We will bepainting a very interesting focus-study.   It is tight realism with an abstract feeling. 	PORTRAITS This workshop will cover: mixing colors for skin tones, easy techniques for hair, fabrics, backgrounds, and step-by-step lessons on each of the facial features.  Work from your own reference photos or do one Ann will provide. 	FRAMING WITHOUT GLASS An upcoming trend with watercolor paintings is to finish them with varnish, eliminating the need for glass.  Learn about different surfaces on which to mount the art, options for glues, archival concerns, safe varnishing and care.
